Village Events and activities

Effingham Common

Village activities include Rainbows, Guides, Cubs & Scouts, Effingham rugby club  & Tuesday Tea, most of these are held either at St. Lawrence Church Hall, King George V Hall or Our Lady of Sorrows Church Hall.

Effingham Village Day is  held annually in the summer  and a bonfire/firework display in  the Autumn.

Ecumenical Events 2012

'Saturday Morning Live' Cafe Style Church   a new venture for Local Churches Together, on the first Saturday of the month, in King George V Hall, everyone welcome especially those who find normal services are not enough, do not suit them or that children might be to noisy.

Taize Services 6.00pm at St Lawrence church as advertised

Next United Communion Service 10.30am Sunday January 29th at St Lawrence Church

'Tuesday Teas' continue to be held  fortnightly at 2.30pm in the Catholic Hall everyone welcome for a cuppa and a chat.

Lent Meetings are being are planned and will start in the week beginning the 27th February.  This year we will using the York Course "Handing on the Torch".  Please phone 01372 454850 to book a place.

Lent Lunches begin on Ash Wednesday at St Lawrence Church hall and are in aid of the Leatherhead Night Hostel. (22nd Feb, 7th & 21st March 12.30 till 2.00pm)

Women's World Day of Prayer Service at the Chapel on the 2nd March at 7.30pm
